Sie können morden rauben und stehlen was und soviel sie wollen, denn sie können jeden Richter und jeden Politiker jederzeit bestechen und/oder verunfallen lassen.
Crazy Billionaires. You Won’t Believe What Number 10 Gets Away With.
1. Jocelyn Wildenstein
Here is the thing, when we say crazy
billionaires we’re not simply talking about eccentric-but-endearing
types such as Richard Branson, who simply want to fund trips to the moon
and spend as much of their money on frivolities as they can.
No, we mean full-on crazy folks – those who want to look like cats, eugenicists, fascists and… serial killers.
Jocelyn is not known just for her
extravagant lifestyle – she spends $60,000 on her phone bill and
$547,000 on food and wine. No, what Ms. Wildenstein is famous for is
her extensive cosmetic surgery to her face, intended to elicit a more
catlike look. Wildenstein is rumored to have spent $4,000,000,
apparently done to please her husband, who loved big cats.
She wasn’t that successful though – he
cheated on her with a 19 year old model, leading to a divorce and a 2.5
billion dollar settlement.
2. Robert Klark Graham
After he made his billions Graham decided
to embark on a journey to improve the human race – by creating a sperm
bank. It was no ordinary sperm bank accepting ‘deposits’ only from Nobel
laureates. problem is Nobel winners tend to be old, which meant their
sperm is not as viable. By 1983, Graham’s sperm bank was reputed to
have 19 repeat genius donors, including William Bradford
Shockley (1956 Nobel Prize in Physics and proponent of eugenics) and two
anonymous Nobel Prize winners in science. The bank closed in 1999, two
years after the death of its creator. 218 children had been born under
its auspices.
3. Ingvar Kamprad
The founder of Ikea was a member of a
fascist group when he was younger. These days he is known for his
extreme frugality. Kamprad drives a 1993 Volvo 240, flies only economy
class, and encourages IKEA employees always to write on both sides of a
piece of paper. He recycles tea bags, and steals salt and pepper packets
from restaurants Kamprad has been known to visit IKEA for a “cheap
meal”. His home is furnished with IKEA furniture he assembled
personally, he uses public transportation, and his modest home would
look at home in any suburban neighborhood
4. Bob Parsons Elefantenmörder
The CEO of Godaddy enraged animal
activists with one of the strangest videos you will ever see in your
life. Parsons, who was visiting Zimbabwe, was shown hunting and killing a
elephant. In the next scene we see locals rip apart the elephant to use
it for food.
he claimed that the elephants eat the
local’s crops, and he was doing a good deed by laying out the animal.
Plus, locals could feast on the elephant after he finished killing it.
5. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah
The Sultan of Brunei is not one to
refrain from treating himself to a ridiculously expensive car or a
yacht. One of his favorite toys is an over-the-top luxurious Boeing
747-400, complete with solid gold sinks in its private lavatories. He
also bought his son Prince Azim a diamond-covered Mercedes Benz.
6. Clive Palmer
Taking his cues from Jurassic park,
Palmer had plans to clone a dinosaur to attract guests to his 5 star
Palmer Coolum Resort. When that fell through, he commissioned over a 100
animatronic dinosaurs to be built on the resort’s golf course. His most
recent plan—to build a replica of the doomed Titanic cruise liner.
Palmer’s Titanic II, which is scheduled to arrive in 2016, is to be
designed with authenticity in mind; the passengers will be separated by
classes and forbidden to intermingle, and modern amenities like
television will be unavailable.
7. Bidzina Ivanishvili
The 56-year-old has recently become the
next Prime Minister of Georgia, though the politician has a sturdy
business background in metals and banking, which made him a billionaire
in Russia. Ivanishvili is a unique tycoon — he lives in a glass house
that has its own personal zoo of penguins. In fact, Ivanishvili has his
own village in western Georgia, where his James Bond-like home rests
just outside Tbilisi, the country’s capital.
8. Leona Helmsley
Dubbed the “Queen of Mean” for her
ruthless professional reputation, real estate entrepreneur Leona
Helmsley lived up to her nickname when she cut most of her family out of
her inheritance in favor of one particularly pampered pup: Trouble, a
tiny Maltese. She left tiny a paltry sum of… $12,000,000.
9. Howard Hughes
Hughes was an aviation pioneer, a
designer and test pilot who suffered a terrible accident when he crashed
his experimental Hughes XF-11 into a Beverly Hills neighborhood. After
his accident he became increasingly eccentric. He spent months in a
darkened screening room without bathing, relieving himself in bottles
and subsisting on a diet of chocolate bars, chicken, and milk.
10. Robert Durst (Serien-Mörder)
Durst is the millionaire son of New York
real estate mogul Seymour Durst. Oh and also he is (allegedly) a serial
killer. At just 7 years old he witnessed his mother commit suicide,
leaping from the roof of the family home. In 1982, Robert’s wife
Kathleen went missing. Her body was never found. In 2000, when the
investigation was reopened, Robert’s friend Susan Berman was found shot
to death execution style in her home; it has been advanced that Berman
may have had information on Kathleen’s disappearance and he didn’t want
her to talk.
In 2003, Durst went on trial for the
murder of Morris Black. He hired defense attorney Dick DeGuerin and
claimed self-defense. During cross-examination, Durst admitted to using a
paring knife, two saws and an axe to dismember Black’s body before
dumping his remains in Galveston Bay. The jury acquitted him of murder. (Selbstverständlich! Er ist nicht schwarz und er ist reich, also kann er nicht schuldig sein)
11. Mark Zuckerberg
For a guy who became a billionaire when
he was barely old enough to drink, Facebook mogul Mark Zuckerberg is
fairly normal. He’s a little awkward and he dresses like it’s always
laundry day, but nothing too out of hand. Until 2011, when he suddenly
announced that he would no longer be eating meat unless he killed it
with his own two hands. Although he claimed to be “basically a
vegetarian”, he didn’t hesitate to inform friends (via Facebook,
naturally) in May of 2011 “I just killed a pig and a goat.” Since 2012,
the bloodthirsty billionaire has gone back to acquiring his steaks the
old fashioned way… at the store.
12. Jeff Bozos
Founder and CEO of Amazon.com,
Bezos is worth over $20 billion dollars. From his youth, he showed a
mechanical genius, earning a degree in electrical engineering and
computer science. For over a decade, he has worked on privatizing
spaceflight through his company Blue Origin. Last month, Bezos and an
ocean exploring team recovered engines from the historic Apollo 11
mission on the bottom of the Atlantic. He is also responsible for $42
million in funding for the Clock of the Long Now, a clock designed to
run for 10,000 years, to be buried deep in the Sierra Diablo Mountains
on his land. By contrast, the Great Pyramid of Giza is less than 5,000
years old.
13. Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart – 18th Duchess of Alba
Pfui Teufel ist die hässlich!
Besides being the recipient of horrifying
plastic surgery, the Duchess is a testament to the power of true love.
When the 85 year old Duchess, estimated to have been worth nearly $5
billion, decided to marry 61 year old Alfonso Diez Carabantes in 2011,
there was a huge backlash from her family, as well as the King of Spain,
Juan Carlos. To prove that wealth had nothing to do with their
nuptials, the Duchess gave her six children their inheritance early—a
vast fortune including estates, priceless artwork, and even the
correspondence of Christopher Columbus—and completely renounced her
wealth.
14. Clive Palmer
Australian businessman Clive Palmer has
been all over the headlines lately. The owner of Mineralogy, a mining
company which focuses primarily on providing iron ore to China, Palmer
is known for his strange and grandiose ideas. In 2012, he spoke out
against the environmental protection organization Greenpeace, claiming
they were in cahoots with the American CIA(Das ist korrekt!) to bring down the Australian
mining industry(Das ist wiederum fraglich). For some time, he had plans to clone a dinosaur to
attract guests to his 5 star Palmer Coolum Resort. When that fell
through, he commissioned over a 100 animatronicdinosaurs to be built on
the resort’s golf course. His most recent plan—to build a replica of the
doomed Titanic cruise liner. Palmer’s Titanic II, which is scheduled to
arrive in 2016, is to be designed with authenticity in mind; the
passengers will be separated by classes and forbidden to intermingle,
and modern amenities like television will be unavailable.
15. Peter Thiel Eugeniker
Peter Thiel has his fingers in a lot of
pies. The co-founder of PayPal and investor in Facebook, Thiel seemingly
has a license to print money. But his true passion is in philanthropy
through his Thiel foundation, investing in strange, revolutionary
technologies. Amongst his interests: developing artificial intelligence,
human immortality, and the building of oceangoing floating cities,
which he believes are necessary for the continuation of our species.
